BC Cancer Practice-based Research Challenge announces funding for five teams

​The Practice-based Research Challenge is an annual program that provides training, mentorship, and funding to help clinicians develop and conduct research projects inspired by their practice and the desire to improve patient care. Five teams have been awarded funding to conduct small-scale research projects in their own clinical settings.​ One of the teams is led by Hilary Cochrane, a speech language pathologist from BC Cancer - Victoria:

Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network accelerates precision medicine plan with signing of Contribution Agreement with Health Canada

Vancouver, BC -- The Government of Canada and the Terry Fox Research Institute (TFRI) have jointly signed a Contribution Agreement which opens the door for the Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network to begin operating. 

2021 BC Cancer Research Studentships Notice and Application Form

Summer research studentships sponsored by the BC Cancer Foundation will be available to support senior undergraduate university students and/or junior medical or dental students seeking hands-on training in cancer research in British Columbia during the period of May 1 - August 31, 2021. These summer studentships may address any discipline of cancer research including clinical, translational, basic, behavioural and population research areas.

World’s largest philanthropic gift to lung cancer will help further our understanding of this deadly disease.

Today the BC Cancer Foundation announced a world-leading philanthropic investment of $15.3 million from the Leon Judah Blackmore Foundation to advance lung cancer research and care. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer related deaths in B.C. and across Canada. On average, there are 3,400 new cases of lung cancer every year in the province with almost half diagnosed at Stage 4.
