
BC Cancer’s 2025 Cancer Emerging Multidisciplinary Research Programs supports research teams to initiate novel multidisciplinary research projects that aim to tackle well-defined issues or problems that affect patients living with cancer or at risk of developing cancer. Funding for the programs is provided through the BC Ministry of Health in collaboration with the BC Cancer Foundation.
2025 Emerging Multidisciplinary Research Programs Recipients:
- Dr. Jessica Chan (with co-PI Nikki Rose-Hunter) for the project titled, “Elevating Indigenous Voices in Radiotherapy Care: A Collaborative Approach in British Columbia.”
- Dr. Cathie Garnis for the project titled, “Understanding Oral Tumorigenesis in the Young.”
- Dr. Jonathan Loree (with co-PI Sharon Gorski) for the project titled, “Molecular Profiling and Model System Generation for Neuroendocrine Neoplasms (NENs).”
- Dr. Daniel Renouf for the project titled, “Defining Actionable Targets in Gastrointestinal Cancer Cachexia (GI-Can).”
- Dr. Ren Yuan (with co-PI Carlos Uribe) for the project titled, “BC Cancer Next-Generation Cancer Imaging Program for Precision Oncology.”
